Hallowell Federal

Set in a historic brick home overlooking the Kennebec River, this kitchen was once the sitting room—now carefully reimagined by Block Brothers to serve modern life without losing its original character. The range now anchors the space where a long-decrepit fireplace once stood. We worked thoughtfully around the quirks of the old structure, including original floors and windows set lower than the countertops, honoring the room’s past while shaping it for the way it’s used today.
