What separates exceptional cabinetry from the merely adequate isn't always visible at first glance.
It's the culmination of countless small decisions, techniques refined over generations, and an unwavering commitment to doing things the right way. At Block Brothers, we take pride in our joinery that’s been refined over time—techniques chosen not because they’re easy, but because they’re enduring.

Our cabinets are made to fit—not just the room, but the life lived within it.
We build for the long haul: for families settling into their forever homes, for architectural masterpieces being restored to their original perfection, for thoughtful builds along the coast. Projects where quality is never the compromise. We design with permanence in mind; cabinetry that belongs from day one and still feels right decades later. Spaces that welcome wear and invite use.
Our workshop in Maine is equipped not with assembly lines but with skilled hands, sharp eyes and a reverence for time-tested methods. While many cabinet makers prioritize automation, outsourcing, and standardization, we believe true quality emerges from methodical attention to every element. We obsess over what’s behind the doors, beneath the surface, and inside every joint because sometimes true craftsmanship is revealed not in the obvious, but in the overlooked.
In our shop, English design principles meet Yankee ingenuity. Wood is selected by hand, and every curve, edge, and dovetail gets the attention it deserves. We don’t work in mass production, and we don’t take a one-size-fits-all approach. Our shop is small by design—it keeps us close to the work, fully immersed in each project, and able to uphold the level of care our name stands for.

Our British-inspired aesthetic is versatile by nature: refined, tailored, and adaptable to both traditional and contemporary kitchens.
At Block Brothers, the design process is as critical as the work in the shop. We work closely with architects, designers, builders, and homeowners to ensure every detail—from grain direction to hardware selection—supports a cohesive, elevated whole. Design is approached with the same care as the craft: collaborative, transparent, and for the long term. We take inspiration from design wherever it’s found—historic homes, modern studios, and across time, place, and culture. We commit ourselves to a slower, more deliberate pace; one that allows for precision from the first sketch to the final delivery. Every piece is a reflection of our belief that true quality is quiet, intentional, and built to last.
In addition to our new offering that allows us to ship custom cabinetry beyond Maine, we remain committed to taking on full-scope architectural projects and complete home cabinetry packages close to home. From shop drawings through installation, we will continue to collaborate with top-tier architects and designers on these local projects to keep ourselves sharp and push our team to execute at the highest level with a variety of styles and techniques.
